If at First You Don’t Succeed Try Something Different

One of the definitions of insanity is to do the same thing, in the exact same way, and to expect a different result. Much of science is based on the principle of trial and error. You try something to get it to do something, if it doesn’t then you move on to something else. When you find something that works, you test it again to make sure it works, and then you have yourself a discovery. This basic trial and error method is something that people will apply to their daily life. When they are problem solving they will look for many solutions to their problem, until they find a solution that works. Yet, one of the major areas of people’s lives that they don’t use the trial and error method is with weight loss.
Many people struggle with losing weight in the United States. In fact the number of obese people in the United States has sky rocketed over the past thirty years. The problem is that even when people are facing the problem of obesity, they are trying to beat it in the same methods that they have tried and failed at in the past. They will cut their diet way down, eliminate any food that doesn’t taste like card board, and even if they succeed they often will put the weight back on when they stop dieting. A study found that over fifty percent of people that loss a significant portion of weight will put it back on within a year of completing their diet. Why is this?
People are using failed methods in the short term to see short term results. Diets aren’t the solution to long term weight loss. The majority of diets are meant to be short term solutions. Thus the phrases, “I’m on,” or “I’m off” a diet. The real change needs to be a change in the way that we eat and construct our meals. If you are sick of failing at different diets, then it is time to reconstruct your meal patterns.
You need to increase your metabolism. Metabolism is the rate at which your body consumes calories for energy. The higher your metabolism is the more calories that you will burn, even when you are just sitting idle. If you are cutting down on the meals that you are eating each day, or if you are really limiting your portion sizes, then you might actually be hurting your body’s ability to lose weight. You should be trying to construct eating habits in which you are eating multiple smaller meals throughout the day. If your body has constant food, then it will not shut down but speed up the rate of consumption. That will give you more energy, and will burn fatter.
Another great way to burn fat is to have good lean muscle creation. Lean muscle provides your body with a great frame that is sleek and sexy; while at the same time burning large amounts of calories. The best way to help your body to create lean muscle is to increase the amount of protein that is in your diet. Protein is used by your body to create and repair lean muscle. The best way to safely increase the amount of protein in your diet is to add a whey protein supplement. Whey protein is the most efficient protein supplement that you can take. It contains a higher percentage of pure protein without the fillers of fats and carbohydrates that other protein blends contain.
When you are on your weight loss plan it is important to find a program that works, and a program that you can modify to a daily meal plan. Remember keeping off the weight is just as important as losing the weight to begin with.
